The locks used in security doors are complex mechanisms which require lubricating from time to time. Aerosol-based silicone sprays are ideal for use in the latch bolt cavities only. To ensure continued trouble-free operation we recommend lubricating your locks 2 to 4 times a year. Please note, dry graphite powder is the only suitable lubricant for keys and key slots of lock cylinders.
To keep your door looking like new use a small amount of mild detergent applied with a soft sponge or a soft bristled brush, followed by a thorough rinsing with clean water. A quick wipe over with an absorbent cloth or chamois will prevent water marks from forming. Microfibre products (Enjo or similar) can make the job a little easier and faster. Frequency of cleaning is largely dependent on the location of the building. In most circumstances cleaning may be carried out every 3 to 4 months. Products installed close to more severe conditions such as marine or industrial environments should be cleaned every 2 to 4 weeks.
